Positioning and z-index

Position utilities

Tailwind supports relative, absolute, fixed, sticky and static. Offset utilities such as inset-0, top-0 and right-0 place positioned elements.

Containing absolute elements

An absolutely positioned child is commonly placed inside a relative parent. This makes the parent's box the positioning context.

Stacking

Use z-index utilities when layers need explicit ordering. Keep stacking contexts understandable; a high z-index on everything often indicates a structural problem.
